I'm DJ Sapphire — a Smooth Jazz & Soul DJ, broadcaster and the founder of The Smooth Jazz Lounge. I've spent over a decade building a community of music lovers who share a passion for sophisticated, soulful, feel-good music.
Known to many of my listeners as 'The Smooth Jazz Queen', I'm honoured to have built a warm, international following that spans continents — from the UK and Europe to the Americas, the Caribbean and Africa.
The Story
Where It All Began
In 2015, I launched The Smooth Jazz Lounge at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham, London. My vision was simple: to create an intimate, welcoming space where people could relax, connect and lose themselves in exceptional music.
What started as a local event quickly grew into something far bigger. The Smooth Jazz Lounge became a beloved institution — a place where music lovers from all walks of life came together, united by a shared love of Smooth Jazz and Soul.
From those early nights in Tottenham, the brand has grown into an international platform. The Smooth Jazz Lounge YouTube channel now reaches over 60,000 subscribers worldwide, has over 10 million views, and the live events have taken me to stages across four continents.
